Vientiane Capital – On March 11, 2026, the official closing meeting for the project titled Building Responsible Value Chains in Asia through the Promotion of Decent Work in Business Operations Phase II was successfully held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Ms. Daovading Philaxayphithack, Deputy Secretary General of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI), along with representatives from relevant LNCCI offices and departments, attended the event.
The meeting was honorably co-chaired by distinguished leaders, including:
- Mr. Phongxaysack Inthalath, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare (MOLSW), who oversees labor affairs;
- Mr. Takuro Tasaka, Minister of the Embassy of Japan to the Lao PDR;
- Ms. Xiaoyan Qian, Director of the ILO Country Office for Thailand, Cambodia, and Lao PDR.
Furthermore, the gathering welcomed various delegates from the tripartite constituents. This included representatives from the MOLSW, LNCCI, the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU), and associated departmental counterparts from these tripartite organizations, alongside officials from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and other invited guests.
The primary objective of the meeting was to officially conclude the "Responsible Value Chains in Asia" project and review its efforts in promoting decent and fair work within the Lao PDR. The session highlighted the active participation and collaboration of the tripartite constituents in organizing and executing activities under the Decent Work Country Program for the Lao PDR, an initiative supported and facilitated by the ILO.
